Summary

Except during medical assisted gender transition, the substance is only used by women and thus analyses on sex or gender differences have not been considered relevant.

Additional information

Estradiol is a natural steroidal estrogen primarily used alone or in combination in hormone replacement therapy or to prevent osteoporosis in postmenopausal women with a high risk of future fractures [1-2]. It is also used during medical assisted gender transition [3].
