Together with the MTP council's evaluation group, TLV conducts thematic investigations in specific areas. The purpose of theme scanning is to identify medical device in a specific area that is, for example, characterized by a high burden of disease, high costs in healthcare or is technology-intensive. It can also concern areas where the regions have a much-requested need for new solutions.

Dialogue with National Program Areas (NPO)

In order to gather knowledge about products and current areas for theme scanning, the preparatory group maintains a continuous dialogue with the National Program Areas within the National System for Knowledge-Driven Management within Swedish Healthcare.
