In Sweden diltiazem has been found in wild fish, however in concentrations below therapeutic concentrations. Mekanism-based effect data is missing. Risk can not be excluded on the basis of the levels determined in the environment in recent years.
Diltiazem has been detected in treated wastewater in Stockholm County in the last five years (2012-2016).
