A Swedish research programme worked to identify human pharmaceuticals that are likely to be of concern to aquatic ecosystems and address the risk for antibiotic resistance promotion in the environment. Started in 2008 and ended in 2015. A final report was published: Identification and Reduction of Environmental Risks Caused by Human Pharmaceuticals MistraPharma Research 2008–2015 Final Report.
